The Comfortpool BASIC sand filter pump is a basic model sand filter pump. A quiet but strong and practical pump, with a handy multi 7-way valve on top for easy operation and a handy pressure gauge. The filter pump BASIC has a filter tank that you can fill with filter sand, glass beads or filter balls. The advantage of this is that this type of filter requires little maintenance. Where you have to change a filter cartridge every two weeks, filter sand, glass beads or filter balls can last the entire swimming season.

Clean filtered pool water
The sand filter pump Comfortpool BASIC filters the pool water cleanly. The pump's filter tank is filled with filter sand, glass beads or filter balls. The pool water is then pumped through the tank and all dirt remains in the filter bed. Every dirt particle is sifted out of the water and the clean water is pumped back into the pool. In addition, the pump ensures that the pool water is constantly moving, so that algae, bacteria and fungi have much less chance to develop (these especially like stagnant water).
Practical operation, useful functions
The sand filter pump Comfortpool BASIC is easy to use with the lever on top of the pump. By turning this lever, you start various functions of the sand filter pump. In addition to the standard filter function, there is, for example, 'backwash', which flushes away all accumulated dirt from the filter bed so that the sand filter pump can filter at full power again. Or the circulation mode, which pumps the water around but does not filter it, ideal for certain water treatments. And the drain function, which sucks and drains the water from the pool, very useful when you want to empty your pool after the season.
Filter balls, glass beads or filter sand
At Zwembadgigant, we recommend that you fill the filter pump with glass beads or filter balls instead of sand. Glass beads last 80% longer than filter sand and clean the pool water more effectively. In addition, it is much less often necessary to rinse the sand bed ("backwash") and you use less pool water for this. Filter balls also clean the pool water more effectively than sand, an additional advantage is that they are washable and much lighter and easier to handle. To fill the Comfortpool BASIC 6 sand filter pump, you need 445 g of filter balls , 11.5 kg of glass beads or 16 kg of filter sand .
Suitable for my pool?
Whether this pump is suitable for your pool depends mainly on the pool size. A sand filter pump must be able to filter all the water in 4 to 5 hours, only then will there be enough circulation to keep the pool clean. The Comfortpool BASIC 6 sand filter pump is therefore suitable for swimming pools up to a maximum of 23,000 litres. Note that when you connect pool accessories to the pump, such as a salt water system or pool heater, this will create additional resistance for the pump. In that case, you may need a sand filter pump with a higher pumping capacity.
Connection to the pool
You install a sand filter pump between the pool's inlet and outlet. All Intex swimming pools have either a 32mm connection or a 38mm connection. Does your pool have a Ø 32 mm connection? Then you can connect the Comfortpool BASIC 6 pool pump without additional parts. Do you have a pool with a Ø 38 mm connection? Then you have two options. For an Intex 38 mm pool, you can use the gray Comfortpool Connector Set to screw on the 38 mm hose. For a pool with Ø 38 mm smooth hose connection (without thread) you need Comfortpool adapter A to connect the sand filter pump. Please note that pool hoses and extra hose clamps are not included with the pump, these must be ordered separately.
