With the Intex salt water system you don't need chlorine, the system converts the added salt into natural chloride that kills bacteria, fungi and algae. The salt water system has a disinfecting effect just like chlorine, but without the irritating drawbacks. No expensive chlorine tablets, no stinging eyes and no chlorine smell. With the salt water system, the amount of salt in the pool water is minimal, only 10% of the salinity of sea water, you can barely taste it!

How does it work?
When you add salt to the pool, the salt water system converts this salt into chloride, a natural form of chlorine. The chloride flows back into the pool, killing the bacteria there and disinfecting the water. Chloride has basically the same effect as chemical pool chlorine, but is completely natural and safe for swimming. With a salt water system, you have a pool full of clean and fresh water, without the disadvantages of pool chlorine or other chemicals.
Simple and practical
The salt water system is a very simple way to keep your pool clean. The system needs to run for a few hours per day, so you can use the timer function to turn the system on and off automatically. You can even run the salt water system overnight so you can splash in a clean pool in the morning! Salt only needs to be added once or twice per season, and the system itself indicates when this is necessary. So just set it properly and you don't have to worry about it anymore.
Installation of the salt water system
The salt water system can easily be placed between the filter pump and the pool. Everything is included, all you need is a screwdriver! This small salt water system is only suitable for swimming pools with Ø 32 mm connections. Two things are important when installing the saltwater system: the pool pump must be strong enough to pump the water through it (min. capacity: 1136 L/hour). And if you heat the pool with solar heat, the salt water system must be installed last in the series to prevent gas formation in the solar collector or solar sphere.
How much salt do I need?
The amount of salt you need when filling the pool can be calculated with a simple calculation: pool volume (in liters) x 0.003 = number of kg of salt. You don't need to add salt again and again. The salt water system continuously produces new chloride from the salt in the water (which is then automatically converted to salt). The only salt that disappears from the water is what splashes over the edge when you swim. If you need to add a little extra salt once, the salt water system will indicate this itself.
*Make sure you use only pure salt (99.8% sodium chloride), without iodine or other minerals. Only fill the pool with tap water, using rain or ground water will damage the salt water system.
