When it comes to pool heating, a heat pump is the best method: energy efficient and with the highest efficiency. A heat pump heats the water and then keeps it at a constant temperature (when the filter pump is on). That way, the water is always nice and warm when you want to take a dip. The Comfortpool heat pumps are equipped with a high-quality titanium heat exchanger and are therefore resistant to prolonged exposure to (salty) pool water. ECO Square series
The ECO Square series is a unique model within Comfortpool heat pumps. Thanks to an advanced display, ECO Square is easy to use. You set the desired water temperature and the heat pump starts heating . ECO Square heat pump has a modern design and a beautiful plastic design. A big advantage of the design is that the air outlet is at the top, so you need much less free space around the heat pump. The heat pump can also be placed with one side against a wall.
How does the heat pump work?
A refrigerant flows in the heat pump and this refrigerant absorbs heat from the outside air. It can always extract useful heat from the air, even when it is still quite cold outside. The refrigerant thus becomes hotter and evaporates into a gas. This gas then flows into the compressor where it is compressed (gas under high pressure becomes very hot). The heated gas then flows along the pipe with cold pool water, the water is heated and then flows back into the pool nice and warm. Meanwhile, by releasing its heat into the pool water, the refrigerant cools down and becomes liquid again, after which the whole process starts again.
Efficient, energy-efficient pool heating
The heat pump uses the heat that is already in the outside air, which makes it a very energy efficient way to heat the pool. More economical than, for example, electric pool heating, more efficient than solar heating. With a heat pump, the ratio between the energy the heat pump consumes and the heat it produces is very favorable. In short, you get about 80% heat for free from nature, and you buy 20% heat; high yield! A heat pump is an efficient and economical way to heat your pool.
Power consumption
It is difficult to say how much power the ECO Square 18 heat pump actually uses from day to day, as this depends on many factors such as the size of the pool, the outside temperature, the use of an insulating cover, the distance between the heat pump and the pool, etc. But in short it can be said: that heating 1000 liters of water to 1°C costs approximately 1.16 kW.
Additional supplies
To connect the ECO Square heat pump, you need the heat pump connection set, which allows you to install it between the filter pump and the pool. For a pool with Ø 32 mm connections, this is all you need. Do you have a pool with Ø 38 mm connections? Then you also need the connection set for pool heating to make all connections suitable. In addition, in both cases you may need some extra pool hose (Ø 32 or 38 mm), but this depends on your pool setup.
Which ECO Square heat pump is suitable for my pool?
Which ECO Square heat pump suits your pool mainly depends on the size of the pool. The heat pump must have sufficient capacity to efficiently heat all the pool water. Overcapacity of the heat pump is of course always permitted, but undercapacity is not recommended. Immediately check the minimum pump power to see if your filter pump is strong enough for the heat pump you choose.
